Give and Get Help

Anyone who wants to be part of a group who believes giving and receiving help is how we take of ourselves and others can join Gowanus Mutual Aid. We believe in solidarity, not charity. There are many ways to get involved— from community drives and events to our CSA program. All activities are member run and free to access. 

CSA 

GMA provides high-quality produce free to residents of three Brooklyn NYCHA communities: Gowanus Houses, Warren Street Houses, and Wyckoff Gardens Houses. Every other Saturday morning starting May 4 and running through the summer. See the CSA page for more details.

Donations

We are always looking for seasonal and essential items — winter coats, toiletries, strollers in new or great condition. If you have something you would like to donate email us at gowanusmutualaid@gmail.com.

Cash Assistance 

Our cash assistance program is intended to provide temporary help for individuals with ties to Gowanus and surrounding areas. Please note that funds for this program are limited, and it may be paused from time to time. Details and answers to common questions. To request assistance, please email gowanusmutualaid@gmail.com.

MISC Initiatives 

We work with our neighbors in different ways including food distributions and language support. We adopt as needs change. If interested please email gowanusmutualaid@gmail.com.
